Probiotics and prebiotics

Probiotics are strains of microorganisms, the aim of which is to help reduce bad bacteria, and to increase those that are good in the human body.

It is known that bacterial strains for diarrheal problems will not help if we buy them for immunity. Here it is simple, just consult a doctor, or even a pharmacist, and they will tell which probiotic is suitable for you. Do not forget to use supplements when you are taking antibiotics (always the same number of times a day) - together they form an inseparable pair. But never take them on an empty stomach.

Unfortunately, not all strains, or rather their minority, have clinically proven biological activity. There are several main probiotic organisms: Lactobacillus casei Shirota and casei DN-114 001 (probiotic bacteria), Lactobacillus rhamnosus (probiotic bacteria), Lactobacillus plantarum (probiotic bacteria), Saccharomyces boulardii (probiotic yeast). The probiotic strain must be accurately described - genus (Lactobasillus), species (rhamnosus) and number (e.g., R0011).

Are probiotics safe? Probiotics have long been recognized as a 100% safe product, but not for everyone. Supplements are not recommended for seriously ill people, e.g. after cancer chemotherapy or acute pancreatitis. Some may have side effects, i.e. gastric problems like constipation, diarrhea, gas, or stomach pains.
