Training martial arts can positively affect overall development and motor coordination and what is more, it can contribute to improving efficiency and strength and support fat burning.

However, the desire to practice martial arts is not everything. You also need the right equipment tailored to the individual needs of the players. What accessories for martial arts are worth paying attention to?

Accessories important in martial arts

Martial arts are not as dangerous as they look, however, when deciding to practice this discipline, it is worth paying attention to proper preparation for training and proper equipment.

When practicing martial arts, appropriate equipment can be helpful, which can facilitate the performance of the activity and at the same time positively affect the safety of the athlete.

Tibia pads

One of the products, which every martial arts lover should pay attention to can be shin guards.

The purpose of their use is to protect the limb, especially the tibia and foot. A good protector should be durable and resistant to damage. In addition, it should contain elements, which can cushion and absorb the force of the impact and be well suited to the needs of the user and provide comfort as well as convenience when performing an activity. Tibia pads should also provide a high level of safety and protect the leg from possible injuries.

Gloves for martial arts

Appropriate gloves, also called boxing gloves, will work in many disciplines related to martial arts, namely in boxing, kickboxing, as well as in Muay Thai.

This is an indispensable piece of equipment, which should be distinguished by high quality and durability. In addition, gloves should fit snugly to the shape of the hand and made of materials, which allow ventilation and prevent intense sweating.

Gloves should also have the right weight and be adapted to the type of discipline practiced - during MMA training they should have bare fingers, be light and do not restrict movements, while training boxing gloves should be slightly thicker and heavier.

In some combat sports, such as wrestling, gloves will not be needed at all, because it is a captured sport in which no punches are made.

Bandages

Boxing bandages are also often used in martial arts, which task is to protect the hands of the athlete and his opponent.

Tapes, bandages or wrappers are not an optional accessory, but an integral and necessary element of the athlete's equipment.

Boxing bandages can stiffen and strengthen the joints of the wrist, fingers and metacarpal bones, and thus can reduce the risk of injury and have a positive effect on the safety of both the boxer and his opponent.

At the same time, their use can extend the life of gloves and facilitate their maintenance. Without bandages, all the sweat released from the hand during exercise absorbs the glove... Can you guess how quickly they wear out?

Bandages should be long enough and should not restrict movement.

Mouth guards

Mouth guards are another inconspicuous, but extremely important element of equipment for every martial arts enthusiast. Our health and certainly full dentition can largely depend on them. Protectors are essential because they can prevent many injuries of the jaw, craniofacial or even brain. They can also cushion and distribute the force of impacts, reducing their negative impact on the jaw.

Mouth guards are usually made of silicone or a special gel and their advantage is the fact that they can adapt perfectly to the athlete's jaw - just warm them in hot water.

Head protectors and suspensors

Head protectors and jockstraps are further protections for important parts of the body, which can be useful especially during sparring or competitions.

They should be made of high-quality materials, which absorb the force of kicks and are distinguished by good cushioning.

There are different types of helmets and the right choice of product may also depend on the martial arts discipline practiced. The most commonly used are those, which provide full protection and are strengthened in the area of the chin and cheeks, i.e. where the opponent most often directs his blows.

Also suspensors are used to protect against punches and kicks in sensitive parts of the body. They are used, like helmets, in many martial arts.

Training discs

When exercising with another person, training shields can be extremely helpful, which are used to practice the technique of punches and kicks and can positively affect the effectiveness of the blows struck.

They are most often made of natural leather and filled with a gel, which can absorb the force of the impact.

Training discs can allow you to carry out training in almost any conditions, and what is more, they can be useful in improving the correct fighting technique and other skills.
